Nicosia: President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides has expressed his condolences for the passing of former Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs Petros Molyviatis, stressing that he served his homeland by promoting national rights, including the great national issue of Cyprus.
According to Cyprus News Agency, in a written statement, President Christodoulides noted that he was saddened to learn of the news of the death of Petros Molyviatis, describing him as a worthy politician who has left his mark on the history of Greek diplomacy. Molyviatis was recognized for his distinguished service to his homeland in many capacities, standing out for his ethics and patriotism. Through the numerous important positions he held, he served his homeland by promoting national rights, including the significant issue of Cyprus.
President Christodoulides expressed, on behalf of the Cypriot government and himself, his sincere condolences to Molyviatis’s family and the Greek people.
Furthermore, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Constantinos Kombos, highlighted in a post on ‘X’ that Molyviatis actively contributed to supporting the interests of the Republic of Cyprus. He noted that Molyviatis left an indelible mark on the foreign policy of Greece and was a vital figure in Greek politics and diplomacy. Kombos also conveyed his sincere condolences to the family of the deceased Petros Molyviatis.
