Yerevan: President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides concluded his visits in Armenia where he attended the European Political Community (EPC) Summit, with his participation in the Moldova Core Group meeting.
According to Cyprus News Agency, at the meeting, attended by the heads of EU institutions and the leaders of France, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Romania, President Christodoulides referred to the significant progress achieved during the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU regarding Moldova's accession process, as well as the readiness for the official opening of negotiation chapters in June.
It is noted that earlier, the President of the Republic met with the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, with whom he reviewed the excellent relations between Cyprus and Armenia.
As stated, Prime Minister Pashinyan thanked President Christodoulides for his long-standing personal support and that of Cyprus for the struggles of the Armenian people, while also thanking him for the Republic of Cyprus' constructive stance on the further development of Armenia's relations with the European Union.
The two leaders discussed issues that will contribute to further cooperation between Cyprus and Armenia, particularly in the areas of air connectivity, tourism, and trade, the statement concludes.
