Elliniko: The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, was proclaimed an Honorary Citizen of the Municipality of Elliniko – Argyroupolis at a special ceremony held at the Olympic Aviation Square in Elliniko.
According to Cyprus News Agency, Mayor Ioannis Konstantatos presented the Golden Key of the City to President Christodoulides, highlighting his contribution to strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Greece and Cyprus. The mayor emphasized that the event held significant symbolism for the city. Konstantatos also acknowledged the historical and cultural connections between Cyprus and the Municipality of Elliniko-Argyroupoli, which are deeply rooted in the presence and activities of the Pontian refugees.
In his response, President Christodoulides expressed his gratitude for the honorary recognition on behalf of the Cypriot people. He underscored the fraternal ties between Cyprus and Greece and highlighted the assistance Greece prov
