President Christodoulides and King Abdullah II Discuss Gaza Ceasefire in Sharm el-Sheikh

Sharm el-sheikh: The prospects for the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, as well as the role that Cyprus and Jordan can play in regional stability and reconstruction, were discussed by President Nikos Christodoulides and King Abdullah of Jordan on the sidelines of the Gaza Summit taking place in Sharm el-Sheikh.

According to Cyprus News Agency, a post on X by Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis indicated that President Christodoulides held a bilateral meeting with King Abdullah of Jordan during the summit. The meeting focused on exchanging views on the latest developments in the region, the prospects for implementing the ceasefire agreement, and the future of Gaza. Additionally, the discussions highlighted the potential contributions of Cyprus and Jordan towards ensuring regional stability and reconstruction.

In an earlier post, Letymbiotis mentioned Cyprus’ active participation in the international summit on Gaza, emphasizing the country’s role as an actor of regional stability and its reputation as a reliable partner. He highlighted Cyprus’ continuous diplomatic presence, national consistency, and political credibility, which have been cultivated and established under President Christodoulides’ government. Letymbiotis described the summit as a historic juncture for the Middle East, marking a defining moment for creating conditions of security and stability in a region that has faced tensions and uncertainty.
