Larnaka: Police arrested 52 people on Wednesday in Larnaka and Paphos districts for staying illegally in the Republic of Cyprus, during an operation by the Aliens and Immigration Service.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the operation was carried out as part of efforts by the Police and the Deputy Ministry of Migration to combat illegal migration and illegal employment.
Repatriation procedures are already under way for 24 of those arrested and are expected to be completed within the day, while the same procedures will also be followed for the remaining persons.
Police said operations to combat illegal stay in the Republic of Cyprus and illegal employment continue on a daily basis.
