Nicosia: The total sales of petroleum products in June 2026 amounted to 129,479 tonnes, marking a decrease of 8% compared to June 2025, as reported by the Statistical Service on Monday. Meanwhile, the total stocks of petroleum products at the end of June 2026 saw a decline of 19.6% compared to the previous month.
According to Cyprus News Agency, there was a noticeable drop in the provisions of marine gasoil by 14.1% and aviation kerosene by 13.7%. Sales of kerosene decreased by 51%, light fuel oil by 44.2%, heating gasoil by 16.8%, asphalt by 12.2%, and road diesel by 2.4%.
Conversely, sales of heavy fuel oil rose significantly by 74.8%, and motor gasoline sales increased by 1.8%. Sales from filling stations specifically registered a slight drop of 1.4%, amounting to 59,271 tonnes.
Despite the annual decline, a comparison of June to May 2026 shows an increase in total petroleum product sales by 1.5%. Specifically, there was a rise in the provisions of aviation kerosene by 6.1%, marine gasoil by 5.9%, and the sales of road diesel and motor gasoline increased by 5.6% and 4.5%, respectively.
For the period from January to June 2026, total sales of petroleum products increased by 1.2% compared to the same period in the previous year.
