One win and two losses were the result for the three Cypriot teams, APOEL, Omonia and Paphos FC, in the first games of the 3rd qualifying round of the UEFA European competitions.
The victory came from Omonia of Nicosia in the Conference League, while Paphos FC and APOEL defeated in their games.
Omonia achieved on Thursday a victory with 1-0 over Hungarian team Fehervar in the GSP Stadium. This result gives an advantage to the Cypriot team to qualify for the playoffs of the Conference League. The second leg will take place in Hungary on August 14.
Paphos FC, for the qualifying round of the Conference League, although leading the score, lost on Thursday with 2-1 from the CSKA of Sofia in Bulgaria. As a result, Paphos will try to advance to the play off phase in the second leg that will take place in Alphamega Stadium in Limassol on August 15.
The second defeat for the Cypriot teams came on Wednesday for APOEL. The champions were defeated in Bratislava by Slovan with 2-0. The second leg is scheduled to be he
