Nicosia: Cyprus warmly welcomes the initialling of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Treaty by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, in the presence of US President Donald Trump at the White House, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a post on X.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Ministry emphasized that this agreement creates the momentum for lasting peace and prosperity in the region, respecting the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization process and based on mutual recognition of each other’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and inviolability of borders.
The Ministry also acknowledged President Trump’s role in facilitating this agreement, congratulating his efforts in making the peace treaty a reality.
