Nicosia: The leadership of the National Guard noted the "excellent organization" and the personnel's "high level" training during live-fire exercises against maritime targets, conducted by artillery Units at the Kiti Firing Range, between 10 and 12 February.
According to Cyprus News Agency, during the exercises participants were trained in procedures for the tactical and technical direction of artillery fire, fire support coordination, and target acquisition.
Procedures for cooperation with other branches were also employed, with the aim of enhancing interoperability and the operational readiness of the National Guard.
As noted in the press release, 'during the visit of the (National Guard) leadership to the firing range, the excellent organization and the high level of training of the personnel in the technical and tactical use of weapons systems were confirmed.'
