Nicosia: The National Guard General Staff has announced a new capability for the design and production of unmanned aerial systems by the National Guard, following a visit by its Commander, Lieutenant General Emmanouel Theodorou, to the newly established Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAV/FPV) Production Laboratory at the 12th Engineering Battalion.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Commander of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Emmanouel Theodorou, visited the newly established Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAV/FPV) Production Laboratory at the 12th Engineering Battalion, where he was briefed on the design, development, and production of unmanned systems by the National Guard, as well as on prospects for their further development and operational deployment.
"This capability marks a significant step in the technological and operational transformation of the National Guard, enhancing its autonomy, flexibility, and ability to adapt rapidly to the demands of the modern battlefield," the announcement said.
It noted that the operation of the Laboratory forms part of broader planning for a modern, technologically advanced, and operationally flexible National Guard that invests in innovation and the development of domestic expertise.
