Washington: Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Georgios Tsitsikostas, has held a series of important contacts in the US, following an official invitation from the US military leadership.
According to Cyprus News Agency, Lieutenant General Tsitsikostas, accompanied by a delegation of officers from the General Staff of the National Guard, visited the US Pentagon and conducted high-level meetings, including with the Deputy Chief of the US Armed Forces. The discussions centered on enhancing US-Cyprus cooperation, notably through the 3+1 format.
The visit aimed to facilitate high-level engagements with officials from the US Department of Defense in Washington and the leadership of the New Jersey Army National Guard.
During these meetings, discussions focused on bilateral military cooperation and strengthening the relationship between the Armed Forces of both nations. Additionally, Lieutenant General Tsitsikostas exchanged views on regional developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, exploring ways to enhance cooperation in addressing common security challenges, promoting stability, and maintaining peace in the broader region.
