N. Ioannides Discusses Situation in Syria, Cyprus’ Role, with France’s Special Envoy for Syria

Nicosia: Cyprus’ Deputy Minister of Migration and International Protection, Nicholas Ioannides, on Tuesday discussed in Nicosia the situation in Syria and Cyprus’ role in regional peace with France’s Special Envoy for Syria, Jean-Fran§ois Guillame.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the Deputy Ministry of Migration and International Protection, in a post on X, referred to ‘a very informative meeting’ between Ioannides and France’s Special Envoy for Syria, Jean-Fran§ois Guillame. The discussions centered on the situation in Syria, prospects for the safe and dignified return of asylum seekers, and Cyprus’ role in stabilization, recovery, and regional peace.

The French side emphasized Cyprus’ significant geopolitical position and expressed anticipation for strong cooperation between the two countries.
