Cyprus track and field athlete Milan Trajkovic wants to make it to the final of 110m hurdles in the upcoming Paris Olympics he tells the Cyprus News Agency. The island's champion in sprint hurdles will be participating in the Olympic games for the 3rd time and in Paris he will be the island's flag bearer along with Elena Kulichenko who will be competing in high jump. In an interview with Cyprus News Agency, Milan shared his goals and dreams for the Paris Olympiad as well as his plans when the Games are over. He said that the preparations began three years ago and described the Olympic Games as the most important event in an athlete's career. "I was preparing every year for a big race, on world or European level but I always had the Olympics in the back of my mind," he said. Milan said that he had a good year last year and he knew that he would make it. "Now I am for the final in Paris, it will be very difficult, there are some really fast athletes," the 32 year old athlete told CNA. His next big goal is the 2025 Tokyo World Championship. Milan said that he is looking forward to the opening ceremony and to the accommodation at the Olympic village which, he added, symbolizes world peace. Milan will run on August 4th and says that he will have only two weeks to prepare further. "Each race requires concentration. I have to be focused, but I will give it my best," he said. He also said that the Cyprus team is quite small but all his co-athletes will do their utmost for the flag of Cyprus. Source: Cyprus News Agency
