Nicosia: Deputy Chief of Mission of China’s Embassy in Nicosia, Zhou Yunliang, emphasized the mutual benefits inherent in the relationships between China-Cyprus and China-EU during a forum in the city. Speaking at the China-Cyprus-Europe Forum, Zhou addressed a panel on “Media Interactions and Cooperation Boost the Development of China-Cyprus and China-Europe Relations,” where he underscored the importance of complementarity in these partnerships.
According to Cyprus News Agency, Zhou urged the public to perceive the interdependence between China and Europe positively. He called on the media to steer clear of narratives focusing on trade wars and decoupling, stressing that differences in systems and cultures should not hinder bilateral ties but serve as catalysts for dialogue and cooperation.
Zhou highlighted that the cooperation between China, Cyprus, and Europe yields benefits for the peoples involved and contributes to global economic growth and prosperity. He further stressed that in an increasingly complex international landscape, the role of responsible media in enhancing cooperation is crucial.
