Nicosia: The multinational military exercise known as "MEDUSA-15/2026" has successfully concluded in the waters off Crete. This extensive exercise, which began on September 10, saw the participation of aeronautical assets and Special Operations Units from Greece, Cyprus, Egypt, France, and Italy. It wrapped up on Friday, September 18.

According to Cyprus News Agency, Cyprus took part in the exercise with its High Seas Ship "IOANNIDIS" from the Naval Command, an AW-139 helicopter from the Air Command, and a Special Operations Team from the Underwater Disaster Unit. The final phase of this elaborate exercise was conducted on Friday and witnessed by top military officials, including the Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Emmanuel Theodorou, Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff, General Dimitrios Houpis, and Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Ahmed Fathy Ibrahim Khalifa, aboard the Greek Navy Frigate "PSARA".

Throughout the exercise, various operational scenarios were carried out. These included combined landing actions and simulated air attacks by attack helicopters and fighter aircraft. The primary objective of "MEDUSA" was to enhance interoperability and cooperation between the Armed Forces of the participating nations at both operational and tactical levels.
