Mr Theodoros Loukaidis Appointed as Director General of Research and Innovation Foundation

Nicosia: The Board of Directors of the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) has announced the appointment of Mr Theodoros Loukaidis as the Director General of RIF for a five-year term following an open selection process.

According to Cyprus News Agency, Mr. Loukaidis brings an impressive academic background to the position, holding an Executive MBA from Warwick Business School, a master’s degree in Communications and Signal Processing from Imperial College, London, and a BEng (First Class, Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from UMIST, UK. His extensive experience in business administration spans both domestic and international arenas.

For the past five years, Mr. Loukaidis has served as the Director General of the RIF, where he has been instrumental in the development of the ecosystem and its performance in European and international indices. The Board of Directors has expressed full confidence in his ability to continue advancing RIF’s mission to bolster research, innovation, and technological development in Cyprus.

Chairman Mr. Dimitris Skouridis, speaking on behalf of the Board, stated, “We are confident that, under his leadership as Director General and in collaboration with the Board, the RIF will continue to evolve, strengthen its partnerships, and implement the National R and I Strategy, significantly contributing to the development of a globally competitive, unified, strong, and well-connected R and I ecosystem that will establish itself as a hub of R and I in the region.”
