Geneva: Minister of Labour, Yiannis Panayiotou, travels to Geneva on Monday to attend the 113th Session of the International Labour Conference (ILO) and the 2nd Forum of the Global Coalition for Social Justice.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Summit and the Forum, as noted in a press release by the Ministry, will promote the institutionalization of international standards for working conditions. The event will also focus on utilizing modern approaches to tackle undeclared employment, alongside ensuring a just transition in light of environmental and technological developments.
The Minister of Labour is scheduled to hold an official meeting with the Director-General of the ILO, Gilbert F. Houngbo. Additionally, Panayiotou will engage in discussions with technocrats of the Organization and maintain contacts with his counterparts. Accompanying him is a delegation comprised of workers’ unions and employers’ associations.
