Nicosia: The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, arrived at the Presidential Palace at around 5:15 p.m. on Monday for a series of important meetings.
According to Cyprus News Agency, Metsola was welcomed by the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides. The initial reception was followed by a private meeting. At 5:30 p.m., an extended meeting and plenary session between the Conference of Presidents of the European Parliament and the Council of Ministers of Cyprus was scheduled, with both the President of the Republic and the President of the European Parliament in attendance.
After a family photo session, the President of the Republic and Roberta Metsola are expected to hold a joint press conference. The event has attracted significant media interest, with representatives arriving at the Presidential Palace early in the afternoon.
Further discussions are planned for tomorrow, Tuesday, December 2, at the House of Representatives.
