Meeting at the Presidential Palace with ‘Plug and Play’ Executives

Nicosia: A meeting with executives of the global innovation and investment platform ‘Plug and Play’ was held on Monday at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia, according to a statement from the Presidency. This meeting marks a significant step towards fostering innovation and investment opportunities in Cyprus.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the meeting with the executives of ‘Plug and Play’, who are in Cyprus as a result of the meeting between the President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides and the founder and CEO of the company Saeed Amidi, in early April, in California, was attended by several key figures. These included Deputy Minister to the President, Irene Piki, Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, Nicodemos Damianou, Director General of the Research and Innovation Foundation, Theodoros Loukaidis, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Andreas Zachariades, and other officials.

‘Plug and Play’ executives are in Cyprus for a series of contacts with government agencies, as well as important market and research and innovation ecosystem players. The aim is to establish a framework for cooperation for the possible development of its operations in Cyprus. This initiative is expected to boost the country’s profile as a hub for innovation and digital policy advancements.

A Letter of Intent with Plug and Play was signed on behalf of the Government by Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, signaling a formal step towards collaboration. This development is anticipated to pave the way for increased engagement and potential investment in Cyprus’s innovation landscape.
