Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, predicting mainly cloudy conditions with the possibility of isolated showers and thunderstorms, especially over the west and north coasts. The forecast is valid from noon on February 17, 2026, until noon the following day, covering an area extending 8 kilometers seawards.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the region is currently experiencing weak low-pressure conditions with atmospheric pressure recorded at 1011 hPa. As a result, coastal areas may see varying weather conditions, with local showers and thunderstorms expected to develop from early morning. Visibility is anticipated to be moderate but may reduce to poor at times.
Despite the unsettled weather, sea surface temperatures remain steady at 18°C, and no warnings have been issued for the period. Winds will be measured using the Beaufort scale, with all times referenced in local time.
