Limassol:Thousands of visitors attended the 65th Wine Festival at the Limassol Public Gardens, which spanned nine days and concluded on Sunday, October 4, 2026.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the official closing ceremony featured a speech by Yiannis Armeftis, delivered by Michalis Michael, Chairman of the Municipality's Cultural Committee. He highlighted that the festival demonstrated how tradition evolves and enriches, providing a unique cultural experience that is passed to younger generations.
Throughout the festival, attendees enjoyed sampling Cypriot wines and traditional flavors. The event's program included music concerts, theatre performances, folklore events, and creative activities for children. This year, additional events were held in the wine-producing villages and Komandaria-producing villages of Limassol, such as Arsos and Agios Mamas.
The 2026 festival also featured visual arts activities, including a Wine Cartoon Exhibition in the Public Garden, organized with the Association of Cypriot Cartoonists 'GEL.A.' and the 'Pin Cartoon and Sketch Workshop.' Additionally, a Photography Exhibition at the Municipal Hall was organized in collaboration with the Cyprus Photographic Society.
