Larnaka District to Establish Technical School for Green Jobs in Aradippou

Nicosia: The town of Aradippou is set to welcome a new technical school focused on green jobs, a significant initiative aimed at enhancing vocational training for young individuals in sustainable development sectors. This development was announced by the Directorate of General Growth of the Ministry of Finance.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the project has a total budget of 39 million euros and is part of the ‘THALEIA2021-2027’ Cohesion Policy Program. It will be co-financed by the European Union and the state budget. The construction of the school is anticipated to be completed by early 2028, featuring modern facilities equipped with laboratories and training rooms to support job specialties with high technological demands.

Additionally, the Ministry of Finance indicates that the school will play a crucial role in raising awareness about climate change and its impacts on everyday life and professional activities. It is also expected to address existing needs in secondary technical education in Cyprus by
providing training opportunities in advanced sectors. This initiative aims to increase employment, enhance skills in the labor market, and bolster green entrepreneurship and the local economy.

The technical school will offer a variety of programs, including Fuel Gas Technician – Natural Gas, Electric Vehicle Engineer, Green Plumber, Renewable Energy Sources Technologist, Energy Saving Electrician, Geoinformatics Surveyor Technologist, Green Building Construction Technician, and Horticulture and Garden Design.
