New york: Minister of Labour and Social Insurance, Marinos Moushiouttas, will participate in the deliberations of the 64th Summit of the United Nations Commission for Social Development (CSocD64), that will take place 2-4 February, at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
According to Cyprus News Agency, a press release issued by the Ministry said that during the Summit, the Minister will take part in high-level discussions on social development, social cohesion, the reduction of inequalities, and the promotion of social justice policies, in the context of global efforts for sustainable and inclusive development.
Cyprus' participation is part of its continued commitment to the principles of social solidarity and the strengthening of social rights, as well as in support of the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the press release said.
On the sidelines of the Summit, the Minister of Labour is expected to have bilateral contacts with his counterparts and representatives of international organizations, with the aim of exchanging views and good practices on employment issues, it is noted.
