Warsaw: Cyprus’ Foreign Minister, Constantinos Kombos, will participate in the informal meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the European Union (Gymnich), which will take place in Warsaw on Wednesday and Thursday.
According to Cyprus News Agency, Kombos will depart for Warsaw on Tuesday the meeting is being hosted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Radoslaw Sikorski, whose country currently holds the presidency of the Council of the EU. The informal meeting will start with an exchange of views between the EU Foreign Ministers and the British Foreign Secretary, David Lammy, focusing, among other things, on the situation in Ukraine and developments in the Middle East and Sudan, the announcement said.
During the second day of the meeting, the EU Foreign Ministers will discuss ‘the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine, as well as EU-United States relations,’ it adds. After the Gymnich, Kombos is to attend an informal working lunch hosted by the Polish Foreign Minister for his EU counterparts and the Foreign Ministers of the candidate countries.
While in Warsaw, Kombos is to hold contacts with his counterparts, as well as with other officials, the announcement said.
