Nicosia: The number of job vacancies in Cyprus experienced a significant decline in the second quarter of 2026, reaching a total of 12,930. This marked a decrease of 3,123 vacancies, or 19.5%, compared to the same quarter in the previous year, which recorded 16,053 vacancies, as per data released by the Statistical Service.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the job vacancies also showed a decrease when compared to the first quarter of 2026, with a drop of 975 vacancies or 7%. The job vacancy rate for the second quarter of 2026 stood at 2.6%. This is a reduction from the 2.8% recorded in the preceding quarter and 3.3% in the second quarter of 2025.

The sectors that recorded the highest job vacancy rates in the second quarter of 2026 were Accommodation and Food Service Activities at 4.6%, followed by Transportation and Storage, and Administrative and Support Service Activities, both at 3.5%.
