New york: The informal expanded meeting on the Cyprus issue is set to take place at the United Nations headquarters in New York on July 16 and 17. This was announced by Stephane Dujarric, the Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, during the daily press briefing. He highlighted that the meeting will serve as an opportunity to continue the dialogue on the Cyprus issue.
According to Cyprus News Agency, this upcoming meeting follows a previous informal meeting held in Geneva on March 17-18 of this year. The Secretary-General will bring together Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot leaders, alongside representatives from the guarantor powers of Greece, Turkey, and the United Kingdom, at the UN Headquarters for further discussions.
Dujarric stated that the meeting aims to provide a platform for dialogue and to exchange views on any progress made since the March discussions.
