Industrial Production in Cyprus Sees 3.6% Growth in 2025

Nicosia: Cyprus' Industrial Production Index experienced a 3.6% growth from January to December 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, as reported by the Statistical Service of Cyprus.

According to Cyprus News Agency, December 2025 saw the index reach 113.0 units (base year 2021=100), marking an annual increase of 3.5%. Over the year, significant growth was noted in several sectors. The manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products rose by 10.9%, while the wood industry and the manufacture of products of wood and cork, excluding furniture, increased by 9.1%. The production of basic metals and fabricated metal products went up by 8.0%, and the manufacture of furniture, other manufacturing activities, and the repair and installation of machinery and equipment saw a 7.2% rise.

Conversely, declines were noted in certain sectors when compared to 2024. The manufacture of paper and paper products and printing experienced a decrease of 9.5%, the manufacture of textiles, wearing apparel, and leather products fell by 3.8%, and electricity supply dropped by 2.0%.

On a monthly basis, December continued a positive trend with manufacturing increasing by 4.6% compared to December 2024. The water supply and materials recovery sector recorded a 3.2% rise. However, electricity supply and mining and quarrying saw declines of 2.4% and 1.7%, respectively.

Within manufacturing, December's most notable annual increases were seen in the manufacture of furniture, other manufacturing activities, and the repair and installation of machinery and equipment, which grew by 13.8%. The wood industry and the manufacture of products of wood and cork increased by 11.9%, and the manufacture of machinery and equipment, motor vehicles, and other transport equipment rose by 8.1%. Declines were only noted in the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products, which fell by 7.4%, and in the manufacture of electronic and optical products and electrical equipment, which decreased by 2.3%.
