Industrial Mathematics Event in Limassol to Focus on Sustainable Economy Innovations

Nicosia: The Cyprus University of Technology has announced a half-day event, titled ‘Industrial Mathematics Driving Sustainable Economy Innovations’, scheduled for December 4, 2025, at the Limassol Municipal University Library. This event is organized as a satellite meeting to the annual gathering of the Council of the European Service Network of Mathematics for Industry and Innovation (EU-MATHS-IN), with the aim of emphasizing the crucial role of Industrial Mathematics in advancing sustainable technologies and practices.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the event will bring together leading academics, industry partners, and innovation-focused organizations from both Cyprus and abroad. Several key contributions have been invited to the event, including a presentation by Prof. Kalogerakis from CHQ Technologies PC and the Technical University of Crete on the ‘Modelling challenges in sustainable application of nanobubble technologies.’ Another notable speaker, Prof. Katerina Kaouri from Cardiff University, will discuss ‘Epidemic modelling in indoor spaces for healthy and resilient buildings and communities.’

Additionally, DiGiNN, the European Digital Innovation Hub of Cyprus, will present on the role of mathematical modeling as an integral part of advanced digital technologies in sustainable innovations. EOAL – Larnaca Waste Management Authority will share insights on circular strategies in wastewater treatment and municipal waste, while Mr. Andreas Gregoriou from Elysee Irrigation Ltd will focus on the design of circular materials.

The event is organized by Dr. Panayiota Katsamba, a lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Cyprus University of Technology.
