IDAHOBIT 2026 an Opportunity to Reaffirm Equal Rights for All, Foreign Ministry Says

Nicosia: IDAHOBIT 2026 is an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of respect, dignity, and equal rights for all, Cyprus' Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote on X. The International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) is observed on 17 May and aims to coordinate international events that raise awareness of LGBTQ rights violations and stimulate interest in LGBTQ rights work worldwide.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the Ministry emphasized Cyprus' commitment to supporting a society where everyone can enjoy their rights freely and equally. This annual observance serves as a platform for promoting awareness, fostering dialogue, and encouraging actions that contribute to the protection and advancement of LGBTQ rights globally. Cyprus' dedication to these principles underscores its role in the international community's efforts to combat discrimination and promote inclusivity.
