Housing for Young People a Government Priority, President Christodoulides Affirms

Nicosia: President Nikos Christodoulides affirmed on Wednesday that housing, especially for the youth, is a priority for his Cabinet. Addressing the members of his Cabinet at the beginning of the meeting, the President referred to significant decisions that the Cabinet will take, including those related to improving the image, reputation, and credibility of the country.

According to Cyprus News Agency, President Christodoulides announced that three bills are set to be decided upon, which focus on the establishment of a National Sanctions Implementation Unit. This unit aims to strengthen the legislative framework for sanctions and restrictive measures, ensuring more effective implementation. The bills were prepared by a specialised overseas firm through a public tender process, marking progress towards addressing corruption and legislation violations.

Regarding housing, the President reiterated its priority status and reminded that seven housing plans have been announced and are under continuous evaluation. Amendments to some of these plans are being made to incorporate more areas and reduce the required land area, thereby increasing the number of eligible beneficiaries. “I repeat, housing is a priority, especially for our youth,” he concluded.
