Nicosia: President of the House of Representatives Annita Demetriou received on Tuesday the new Greek Ambassador to Cyprus, Konstantinos Kollias.
According to Cyprus News Agency, President of the Greek Parliament Nikitas Kaklamanis is scheduled to make an official visit to Cyprus in the coming days. In welcoming the Ambassador, Demetriou emphasized the strong unity between Cyprus and Greece, highlighting that Cyprus’s greatest diplomatic asset is its relationship with Greece and its membership in the European Union.
Demetriou expressed that under this spirit of unity, both nations are working together to tackle various challenges. She mentioned the Security Action for Europe (SAFE) instrument of the EU, noting that Cyprus and Greece share the same stance on the participation of third countries, specifically Turkey, in this context.
The new Greek Ambassador, Konstantinos Kollias, remarked that Kaklamanis’ upcoming visit will reaffirm the Greek Parliament, State, and Government’s support for the Cypriot Government’s efforts to resolve the Cyprus issue based on the UN Security Council framework and resolutions.
