Nicosia: Heavy thunderstorms are expected to affect Cyprus this weekend. In particular, in a yellow warning, the Meteorology Department said the bad weather was expected to start from 2300 on Saturday evening and continue through to 1700 on Sunday.
According to Cyprus News Agency, isolated heavy thunderstorms are expected to affect the island at times, initially impacting the West and the North and gradually extending to the rest of the island. During the storm, hail is expected to fall while surface wind will be variable and strengthening.
The precipitation rate is anticipated to range between 35 and 55 mm per hour.
