Greek Deputy Defence Minister Visits Hellenic Force Headquarters in Cyprus.

Nicosia: Greek Deputy Minister of National Defence Giannis Kefalogiannis visited the headquarters of the Hellenic Force in Cyprus (ELDYK) on Wednesday.

According to Cyprus News Agency, Kefalogiannis was briefed on the organisation, mission, and ongoing operational activities of the force. He toured the War Headquarters, Military Museum, and other facilities within the camp. Later, the Deputy Minister visited the 2nd Mechanised Infantry Battalion at the “Andreas Zakos” Camp, where he observed a shooting simulation demonstration.

Addressing the personnel, Kefalogiannis expressed gratitude for their dedication, sacrifice, and professionalism, emphasising the unwavering support of Greece’s political and military leadership. He highlighted ELDYK’s role as a symbol of the unbreakable bond between Greece and Cyprus, founded on shared heritage, history, and values. He reaffirmed Greece’s commitment to achieving a just and viable solution to the Cyprus issue based on UN Security Council resolutions and EU principle

Following his visit, Kefalogiannis attended a working lunch with Cyprus’ Minister of Defence, Vasilis Palmas.
