Greece, Cyprus, Egypt Hold 6th Trilateral Meeting on Diaspora Issues in Limassol

Limassol: The 6th trilateral meeting on Diaspora issues between Greece, Cyprus, and Egypt took place this week in Limassol, focusing on cultural and educational synergies.

According to Cyprus News Agency, a press release from the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs detailed the meeting, which was attended by Greece’s Deputy Foreign Minister Ioannis Loverdos on November 10 and 11. The meeting was part of the ‘NOSTOS’ program, representing the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Cypriot delegation was led by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Theodora Constantinidou, while Egypt was represented by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates, Ambassador Nabil Habashi.

The press release indicated that the meeting reaffirmed the positive climate of trilateral cooperation. The representatives discussed promoting synergies in culture and education, with a focus on joint initiatives for new generations of expatriates. The Greek Deputy Minister emphasized the role of scientific diplomacy in strengthening ties among the expatriate communities of Greece, Cyprus, and Egypt.

Loverdos expressed gratitude to Cyprus for hosting the meeting and highlighted the importance of focusing on both the past and future of the trilateral relationship. He noted the significance of the Greek-Cyprus-Egyptian diaspora and its potential contributions, as concluded in the press release.
