ISTANBUL: Expanding its footprints in Southeast Asia, Google on Monday announced fresh investments to build data and cloudflare centers in Thailand.
Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra announced on X that President and Chief Investment Officer of Alphabet and Google Ruth Porat on Monday announced the investment of $1 billion into a new data center in Thailand aimed at expanding the existing collaboration between Google and the Thai government on digital and social development under the concept of ‘Leaving No Thai Behind.”
“Lastly, I would like to thank former Prime Minister Srettha for his efforts to make this investment possible,” she added.
Earlier in May, Google announced it will commit $2 billion in Malaysia and build its first data center in the country.???????
