Limassol: German Minister of State for Europe, Gunther Krichbaum, is visiting Cyprus from March 2-3 for the General Affairs Council (GAC) meeting, held as part of Cyprus' Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
According to Cyprus News Agency, Krichbaum's visit includes a stop at the Eratosthenes Center of Excellence in Limassol. There, he will engage in discussions with Professor Dr. Diofantos G. Hadjimitsis, the Center's Director, and Dr. Nikodemos Damianou, Cyprus' Deputy Minister for Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy. The discussions will cover the current state and future perspectives of scientific cooperation, highlighting collaborations with German institutions like the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research.
The visit also features a working luncheon hosted by Dr. Hans Peter Jugel, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Cyprus. This event will include representatives from the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Cyprus Shipping Chamber, and members of the German shipping and port management sector in Cyprus.
