Nyeri: Foreign Affairs Minister Constantinos Kombos visited the “Makarios” Orphanage in Nyeri, Kenya, on Sunday. In a post on ‘X’, he expressed that “during the first day of my stay in Kenya, I paid a very special visit to the ‘Makarios’ Orphanage in Nyeri”.
According to Cyprus News Agency, Kombos highlighted his pride in Cyprus’ support for the work of the NGO “Sophia for Children”. An agreement was signed with the NGO to provide funding for its activities through Cyprus Aid. This partnership underscores Cyprus’ commitment to supporting humanitarian projects.
In addition to the agreement, the Minister inaugurated the “Olive Tree” hall, a new facility at the orphanage funded by Cyprus Aid. This development marks a significant contribution to the infrastructure supporting children in the region.
Minister Kombos emphasized that the Ministry will “continue to support actions focused on people and especially children,” reinforcing Cyprus’ dedication to global humanitarian efforts. The visit and subsequent agreements are a testament to Cyprus’ ongoing commitment to fostering international cooperation and support.
