Fitch Ratings Affirm Cyprus’ Economic Stability, President Christodoulides States

Nicosia: The confirmation of the Republic of Cyprus' A- rating with a positive outlook by Fitch Ratings is yet another strong vote of confidence in the country's economic path, President Nikos Christodoulides said Saturday.

According to Cyprus News Agency, in a post on X, President Christodoulides noted that the significance of the decision 'becomes even greater within today's unstable geopolitical environment, which affects economies, markets and societies', and demonstrates 'that seriousness, consistency and responsible policies deliver results'.

He emphasized that strengthening the country's credibility 'acts as a shield for the economy, as a supporting force for businesses, and as a prerequisite for a social policy that delivers tangible benefits to citizens'.

President Christodoulides concluded by stating, 'With a clear plan, fiscal responsibility and a focus on the real needs of society - always on the basis of our ideological and political framework, which is Social Liberalism - we continue to transform economic stability into social security, development prospects and greater resilience for our homeland,' adding, 'Above all, Cyprus.'
