Larnaca: The first repatriation flight of Cypriots who were stranded in Dubai successfully landed at Larnaca Airport at 18:35 on Wednesday. The aircraft brought back 182 Cypriot citizens, including three infants, marking a significant step in the ongoing efforts to return citizens to Cyprus.
According to Cyprus News Agency, approximately 756 Cypriots were stranded in Dubai, highlighting the scale of the repatriation effort. In a related development, a Gulf Air flight from Dammam, Saudi Arabia, also arrived in Cyprus at 17:10, carrying 12 citizens. These individuals had been stranded in Manama, Bahrain since Saturday, following their return from Asia. During this period, they received hospitality from Gulf Air and consular assistance from the Cypriot embassies in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, facilitating their travel to Dammam and subsequent return to Cyprus.
Competent sources indicated to CNA that two to three additional repatriation flights are anticipated to take place on Thursday, continuing the efforts to bring back Cypriot citizens from abroad.
