Nicosia: FIBA Europe has sent a letter of congratulations to the Cyprus Basketball Federation (CBF) following the Cyprus U18 Women's National Team's silver medal-winning performance at the FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket 2026 Division C, held in Peja, Kosovo.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the letter was signed by FIBA Europe President Jorge Garbajosa and FIBA Europe Executive Director Kamil Novak, who congratulated the Cyprus Basketball Federation, the national team players, the coaching staff, and the support personnel on their significant achievement.
In the letter, FIBA Europe noted that the Cyprus team delivered strong performances throughout the tournament, demonstrating determination and character on its journey to the final.
FIBA Europe also highlighted that the success reflects the high-quality work being carried out to develop women's basketball in Cyprus.
"Please convey our sincere congratulations to the players, coaches and support staff on their outstanding achievement," the letter stated, concluding with wishes for even greater success in the future.
The Cyprus Basketball Federation expressed its sincere appreciation to FIBA Europe for the recognition, describing it as a great honour for Cypriot basketball and a reward for the efforts of everyone who contributed to the team's remarkable success.
