Paphos: The 105th gathering of the contact points of the European Judicial Network in Civil and Commercial Matters is underway in Cyprus, featuring the participation of judges, lawyers, officials from competent authorities, Ministries of Justice, consumer dispute resolution centers, and academics.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the two-day event, which commenced today in Paphos, is part of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union and related activities orchestrated by the Legal Office of the Republic of Cyprus and the Ministry of Justice and Public Order. During this high-level meeting, delegates are set to evaluate the cross-border small claims resolution procedure and the cross-border account preservation procedure, along with pertinent case law from the Court of Justice of the European Union on these matters.
The central theme of the meeting is the digitalization of these procedures, with discussions having been concluded and implementation anticipated within the next year. The press release notes that the European Judicial Network, in collaboration with the respective Presidency of the Council of the European Union, organizes such meetings to facilitate the exchange of experiences and best practices among Member State contact points and to address issues that require expert discussion.
