London: Deputy Minister for European Affairs Marilena Raouna is currently engaged in a working visit to London. This visit is strategically aligned with the upcoming informal expanded meeting on Cyprus set to take place in New York and the preparations for the Cypriot EU Council Presidency scheduled for the first half of 2026.
According to Cyprus News Agency, Raouna’s discussions in London are centered around the Cyprus issue and the dynamics of EU-UK relations as Cyprus gears up to assume the EU Council Presidency. Her itinerary includes meetings with Stephen Doughty, UK Minister of State for Europe and North America, and Michael Ellam, Second Permanent Secretary for European Union and International Economic Affairs.
Further engagements involve discussions with Armida van Rej, a Senior Research Fellow and head of the Europe Programme at Chatham House, and Praful Nargund, founder and director of the Good Growth Foundation think tank.
Additionally, Raouna is set to deliver a keynote speech at the annual parliamentary meeting of the UK Cypriots Federation. This event is co-organised with the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Cyprus and will be held in the House of Commons.
