Nicosia: The High Level Group on Gender Mainstreaming is set to convene for a two-day meeting in Nicosia as part of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU. The meeting will commence this afternoon, with the Cypriot Minister of Justice and Public Order, Costas Fitiris, scheduled to deliver a welcome address. According to Cyprus News Agency, the High-Level Group on Gender Mainstreaming is a European Union Committee chaired by the European Commission. This committee assembles every six months to coordinate efforts in shaping the gender equality agenda across the EU. It plays a crucial role in assisting the rotating Presidencies in establishing priorities in gender equality and serves as the primary forum for the strategic follow-up to the Beijing Platform for Action.
