EU Foreign Ministers Address Global Challenges at Warsaw Gymnich

Warsaw: EU Foreign Ministers discussed international developments during their informal meeting (Gymnich) that took place in Warsaw on May 7 and 8. Cyprus was represented by Foreign Minister, Constantinos Kombos, who engaged in discussions with several of his counterparts on the sidelines of the meeting.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the Foreign Ministry issued a press release stating that the ministers exchanged views on current international developments, focusing primarily on the ongoing Russian offensive against Ukraine and the EU’s relations with the USA.

During the Gymnich, the Foreign Ministers engaged in discussions with UK Foreign Secretary, David Lammy, addressing issues related to the situation in Ukraine, as well as developments in the Middle East and Sudan.

Additionally, Kombos held brief discussions with Lammy, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, and Serbian Foreign Minister Marko uric.

The press release further mentioned that following the Gymnich’s conclusion, Kombos took part in an informal working lunch. This event, hosted by the Polish Foreign Minister, centered on hybrid threats and included Foreign Ministers from nine candidate and potential candidate EU membership partners.
