Limassol: Electricity Authority is stepping up its efforts to provide electricity as soon as possible to all fire-stricken communities in Limassol district, its spokesperson Christina Papadopoulou told the Cyprus News Agency.
According to Cyprus News Agency, Christina Papadopoulou specifically mentioned that the community of Pachna will soon receive an alternative power supply. In addition, mobile generators have been installed in the village centers of Vasa Koilaniou, Mallia, and Arsos. Plans are in place to install generators in three more communities shortly, in collaboration with the Fire Service.
Papadopoulou reported that the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) has assessed damages in 30% of the area affected by the wildfire. The assessment revealed damage to more than 300 electric poles, 30 transformers, and one substation.
The fire has disrupted electricity supply in several villages, including Agios Amvrosios, Agios Therapon, Alassa, Arsos, Doros, Kissousa, Kato Kivides, Kolossi, Mallia, Pachna, Potamiou, Silikou, Sotira, Souni, Vasa Koilaniou, Vouni, and Zanatzia. The EAC is working diligently to resolve these issues and restore power to the affected areas.
