Education Minister Highlights the Role of Greek Language in Modern Education and Culture

Nicosia: Minister of Education, Sport and Youth of the Republic of Cyprus, Athena Michaelidou, has emphasized the critical role of the Greek language in education, culture, and the digital realm, particularly in an age marked by rapid technological advancements. She articulated this viewpoint while speaking on behalf of the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, during an event at the Presidential Palace on Friday evening, held in honor of International Greek Language Day.

According to Cyprus News Agency, Minister Michaelidou underscored the government's commitment to enhancing language education through a strategic plan aimed at modernizing schools. She described the Greek language as a contemporary instrument for dialogue and a bridge linking Europe to the universal values of humanism. The event also featured Greek Professor of Linguistics, Georgios Babiniotis, as the keynote speaker, further highlighting the significance of preserving and promoting the Greek language on the global stage.
