Amaliada: The Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, Athena Michaelidou, is set to travel to Amaliada, Greece, on Monday. Her visit will coincide with the unveiling ceremony of a memorial column dedicated to the unaccompanied refugee children of Cyprus following the Turkish invasion of 1974.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Ministry of Education announced in a press release that Minister Michaelidou will also be visiting Patras, Greece. During a special event at the University of Patras, she will be awarded an honorary doctorate by the Department of Education and Social Work Sciences. This recognition underscores her contributions to the field of education and her ongoing commitment to fostering educational ties between countries.
Minister Michaelidou is scheduled to return to Cyprus on Wednesday, September 24, after completing her engagements in Greece.
