Nicosia: Education is an integral part of the work we will drive forward during our EU Presidency beginning January 1st, focusing on the new Erasmus+ in the upcoming Multiannual Financial Framework, on the EU Youth Strategy 2025-27, as well as on the Union of Skills, an area we as Government have been working on since day one, matching our education system and skills with the labour market, President Nikos Christodoulides said on Monday. Addressing the 46th Cyprus Business School Graduation Ceremony, the President told graduates that the knowledge, skills, and values they have acquired will serve as their professional and moral compass, a foundation for lifelong learning, social responsibility, and meaningful engagement.
According to Cyprus News Agency, President Christodoulides emphasized the importance of continuous learning and growth, urging graduates to use their skills to uplift those around them. He highlighted the hard work, effort, self-discipline, commitment, and perseverance that brought the gradu
ates to this milestone, acknowledging the support of families, professors, and the institution in their journey.
The President also praised Cyprus Business School’s contribution to the higher education landscape, noting its commitment to quality education and international engagement. He assured that education is at the forefront of the Government’s work, with reform being central to their efforts. The Government is investing in quality, equity, and internationalization, demonstrating a commitment to the youth of Cyprus.
The Strategic Plan for the Upgrading of Higher Education, developed through the Ministry of Education, aims to modernize higher education, align it with the labour market, and establish Cyprus as a competitive international center for higher education. President Christodoulides expressed the desire to ensure that every student has the opportunity to thrive and shape a meaningful future.
