DSA Joins EU-Funded Cybersecurity Project PHOENI2X

Nicosia: The Office of the Commissioner of Communications – the Digital Security Cybersecurity Authority (DSA) announced its participation in the European research project PHOENI2X, an initiative focused on research, innovation, and technological progress in cybersecurity.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the project is funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme and is executed by a consortium of leading experts, research institutions, and organizations from various EU member states. The primary objective of PHOENI2X is to redefine the preparation and response strategies of critical infrastructures to cyber attacks by developing a cybersecurity framework that enhances resilience.

The project aims to integrate artificial intelligence technologies into this framework, thus improving the prediction, detection, and response capabilities to cybersecurity incidents. This integration is expected to enable critical infrastructures and national authorities to detect, respond to, and recover from cyber and physical incidents with increased speed and accuracy.

DSA’s involvement in PHOENI2X underscores its dedication to bolstering the digital infrastructure of the country. Through this participation, DSA is actively contributing to creating a safer digital environment in Cyprus in the face of ever-evolving cyber threats.
