Deputy Shipping Minister on Official Visit to London

London: Deputy Shipping Minister Marina Hadjimanolis is set to engage in a series of high-level meetings in London as part of her official visit from July 6 to 9. The visit aims to bolster Cyprus’ candidacy for election to the Council of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO).

According to Cyprus News Agency, Hadjimanolis departed for London on Sunday. Her visit will feature a bilateral meeting with the UK’s Minister for maritime affairs, Mike Kane. The discussions will focus on cooperation between the two ministries and current issues, particularly geopolitical matters impacting the shipping sector.

In addition to her meeting with Kane, Hadjimanolis will confer with Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth. The visit will also include a series of meetings aimed at promoting Cyprus’ candidacy for the IMO Council in the upcoming elections scheduled for November.
